Abstract: Rabindra Nath Thakur is a big banyan tree in the field of socio-cultural and education. He is a great revolutionary figure for making society in all aspects. The present paper aims to study the new generation students’ perceptions towards Rabindra sangeet and educational thought of Tagore at present day context. In this paper 100 college going students were considered as sample. Result shows that most of the new generation’s students’ perceptions are not in favour of Rabindra sangeet and educational thought of Tagore’s. Majority of the new generation college going students (52%) said that they like Rabindra sangeet in remake mode, only 32% new generation college going students perceived that their behavioural changes have been occurred after listening the Rabindra sangeet and 34% new generation college going students feel that Rabindra sangeet is helpful for stress relief and culm to the mind. 36% new generation college going students said that Rabindra Sangeet is very helpful only when fall in painful situations. Only 28% new generation college going students said that Tagore’s educational thought is helpful for development the child and only 25% new generation college going students perceived that Rabindra sangeet develop the creative open minded. Only 30% new generation college going students perceived that Tagore’s educational thought is helpful to develop free discipline and only 24% new generation college going students said that Tagore’s educational thought and Rabindra sangeet creates the bangaliana (‘Spirit of Bengali Satta’).
