Abstract: Content analysis is a widely used research technique in Library and Information Science (LIS) for systematically examining documents, texts, publications, and communication patterns. This paper provides an introductory overview of content analysis, including its definitions, historical foundations, review of literature, applications in LIS research, types, advantages, limitations, and scope. The paper aims to guide beginners in understanding the relevance and significance of content analysis in the field of libraryscience.
