It highlights the basic tenets of developmental perspective of writing in the journey of scribbling to scripting \u2013 its goals, purposes and applications. It also reviews the mismatch of the ideal classroom pedagogy and real life classroom scenario and also tries to elucidate the possibilities and opportunities of creating the supportive environment for developing writers. Finally the paper tried to delineate the relevance of such studies in today\u2019s backdrop as well as suggested some measures to move to their desired future
