Sports organizations require adequate and stable financial resources not only to conduct competitions but also to maintain infrastructure, develop athletes, support grassroots participation, employ professional personnel, and fulfil broader social responsibilities. This article examines the major challenges affecting the financial sustainability of sports organizations and identifies strategic approaches for strengthening their long-term financial viability. The study adopts a conceptual and analytical approach based on a review of existing literature, institutional frameworks, and contemporary developments in sports finance. The analysis indicates that excessive dependence on a limited number of revenue sources, inadequate financial planning, rising player and operational costs, weak governance, limited financial transparency, insufficient investment in digital transformation, and vulnerability to external shocks are major threats to sustainability. Revenue diversification, strategic budgeting, cost control, digital commercialization, sponsorship development, effective governance, financial risk management, and corporate social responsibility emerge as important strategic responses. The article argues that financial sustainability should not be understood merely as the achievement of short-term profitability; rather, it should encompass financial stability, resilience, accountability, responsible resource utilization, and the capacity to sustain sporting and social objectives over time.
