Abstract:<\/strong> The twenty-first century has witnessed an unprecedented transformation in human communication, knowledge acquisition, and leisure activities due to the rapid expansion of digital technology and social media platforms. While digital connectivity has democratized access to information, it has simultaneously fostered an environment characterized by continuous scrolling, fragmented attention, and superficial engagement with content. This phenomenon has raised significant concerns among educators, psychologists, librarians, and literary scholars regarding the declining habit of deep reading. The present article critically examines the enduring value of book reading in an era dominated by digital feeds. Drawing upon interdisciplinary literature from education, psychology, neuroscience, media studies, and literary criticism, the paper argues that reading books remains indispensable for cognitive development, emotional intelligence, creativity, empathy, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. Furthermore, the study discusses the challenges posed by digital distractions and proposes practical strategies to revive reading culture among younger generations. The article concludes that while digital technology is an invaluable educational resource, it cannot replace the unique intellectual and emotional experiences offered by sustained engagement with books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
