A total sample of 60 women (30 from a joint family and 30 from nuclear family) were taken. The data was collected by administering the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire developed by psychologists Michael Argyle and Peter Hills (2002). The results showed that women in nuclear families are happier than those in joint families.
